Abstract

The prevalence of antifungal-resistant Candida albicans , which is a common human fungal pathogen causing life-threatening systemic infections, has become a challenge in the treatment of fungal infections. Arthrocolins are a new type of xanthene obtained from Escherichia coli fed with a key fungal precursor toluquinol.
