Abstract

The spread of bacteria in soil is critical in soil biogeochemical cycles, soil and groundwater contamination, and the efficiency of soil-based bioremediation projects. However, the mechanistic understanding of bacterial spreading in soil remains incomplete due to a lack of direct observations.
