Abstract

Streptococcus agalactiae , or group B Streptococcus (GBS), is recognized as the leading cause of neonatal invasive infections. However, an increasing incidence of invasive GBS infections among nonpregnant adults, particularly the elderly and those with underlying diseases, has been observed.
