Abstract

Forest musk deer is listed as an endangered species by International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List, and the Chinese government has introduced captivity breeding measures to curb the rapid decline of the musk deer population since the 1950s. It has been suggested that Blastocystis colonization can modulate the composition of the host's intestinal microbiota, thereby affecting the host health.
