Abstract

Studies from around the world have demonstrated that many patients use contaminated nebulizers to deliver medication into their lungs. While it is known that using contaminated medications in a nebulizer can lead to a lung infection, whether bacteria on the surface of a contaminated nebulizer detach as bioaerosols capable of reaching the lung has not been studied.
