Abstract

ABSTRACT Necrotizing fasciitis due to Vibrio vulnificus may result in overwhelming sepsis, leading to death in some patients. Significant risk factors for severe disease include preexisting liver disease. We report a case of Vibrio vulnificus necrotizing fasciitis in a patient with previously undiagnosed chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis.
