Abstract

Borreliaspecies are causative agents of Lyme disease and relapsing fever infections in humans.B. crociduraecauses one of the most prevalent relapsing fever infections in parts of West Africa. In the endemic regions,B. crociduraeis present in ~17% of the ticks and ~11% of the rodents that serve as reservoirs.
