Abstract

Providencia rustigianiiis potentially enteropathogenic in humans. Recently, we identified aP. rustigianiistrain carrying a part of thecdtBgene homologous to that ofProvidencia alcalifacinesthat produces an exotoxin called cytolethal distending toxin (CDT), encoded by three subunit genes (cdtA,cdtB, andcdtC).
