Abstract

Efavirenz (EFV), the most popular nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, has been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction in most in vitro studies. However, in real life the prevalence of EFV-induced mitochondrial toxicity is relatively low.
