Abstract

Mechanisms of evolution and evolution of antibiotic resistance are both fundamental and world health problems. Stress-induced mutagenesis defines mechanisms of mutagenesis upregulated by stress responses, which drive adaptation when cells are maladapted to their environments—when stressed.
