Abstract

Mycobacterium abscessus is one of the most common and pathogenic nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) isolated in clinical laboratories. It consists of three subspecies: M. abscessus subsp. abscessus , M. abscessus subsp. bolletii , and M. abscessus subsp. massiliense .
