Abstract
Zika virus infection can cause mild fever, rash, and muscle pain and in rare cases can lead to brain or nervous system diseases, including Guillain-Barré syndrome. Infections in pregnant women can increase the risk of miscarriage or serious birth defects, including brain anomalies and microcephaly.
