Abstract

ABSTRACT To realize the most benefit from multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) screening, all nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT)-positive respiratory specimens should be universally tested. Once an MDR-TB diagnosis is established, additional testing is warranted to provide details about the detected mutations. The lab-on-chip technology described by A. M. Cabibbe et al. (J Clin Microbiol 53:3876–3880, 2015, http://dx.doi.org/10.1128/JCM.01824-15 ) potentially provides this much needed information.
