Abstract
Evidence indicating low-level reading of the UGA triplet was obtained for six strains of
Salmonella typhimurium
. Such low-level UGA “suppression” may be a general phenomenon common to strains of
S. typhimurium
and, perhaps, to all enteric bacteria.
