Abstract

ABSTRACT Tn 7 ::In2-8 contains sat2 - aadB - catB2 ( ΔattC )- dfrA1 - sat2 - aadA1 - orfX in the variable region of a class 2 integron embedded in the Tn 7 -like transposon. This novel transposon was inserted in its preferred site downstream of the glms gene in Acinetobacter baumannii . Acquisition of the pseudocassette catB2 could have arisen by a secondary-site integrase-mediated intermolecular recombination event.
