Abstract
This chapter offers a few dènye panse, Haitian Kreyòl for “last thoughts,” that articulate not only the groundbreaking knowledge Vodou en Vogue has produced, but also explores the inescapable shifts within Vodou itself. The chapter underscores how Vodou changes over time, just as all religions do; its practitioners and rituals cannot be held in stasis. Traditions are passed down through spiritual lineages and initiatory rites, and with each successive transition they shift, accommodating new places, people, and experiences. These last thoughts offer a look to the future of the leadership of Manbo Maude’s home in the form of her daughter Manbo Vante’m Pa Fyem and how she continues the legacies of fashion and community building within Vodou in both Mattapan and Jacmel.
