Abstract

This article reviews the main shifts' directions in the economic structure of Kazakhstan for the period of independent development by comparing information on the sectoral distribution of GDP, investment and employment. The comparison of the data on current statistics and the results of two population censes in 1999 and 2009 holds a special place in the study.
