Abstract
The article explores the meaning, the process of formation and the political foundation of the concept of “strategic ambiguity” in US policy towards the Taiwan issue. The author discusses whether the Biden administration has abandoned it in favor of “strategic clarity”. The paper analyzes the political and academic debate over the policy of “strategic ambiguity” and the implications of the American administration’s current policy for the U.S. interests in Asia.
