Abstract

During the analysis of the literature, it turned out that in different countries there are certain differences in the reasons that determine the termination of the sports career of athletes. In addition, it turned out that representatives of various sports were included in many studies, which do not provide an accurate assessment of the reasons for the termination of a sports career in gymnastics. The purpose of the study is to find out the reasons of young gymnasts’ sports career termination in Armenia. The termination of the sports career of young Armenian gymnasts is due to 12 different reasons, amongst them the main ones are lack of athletic achievements (insufficient progress for an athlete), lack of motivation, injuries.
