Abstract
ABSTRACT
Testosterone pellets have been implanted into the dorsal lymph sac of common frogs (Rana temporaria) at three different stages of the spermatogenetic cycle.
Testosterone appears to cause complete inhibition of the multiplication divisions of the spermatogonia. It has no effect on the development of the spermatocytes and spermatids and may even slightly accelerate this process. The mode of action of testosterone, and its probable role in the regulation of the spermatogenetic cycle is discussed.
