Abstract
ABSTRACT
The contents of adrenaline and noradrenaline in the uterus of the rat have been investigated. A spectrofluorometric determination of the amines, converted into their lutines, has been used. The level of adrenaline, if present at all, was much lower than that of noradrenaline. The total amount of noradrenaline in the uterus did not vary significantly during oestrus, dioestrus and pregnancy. Treatment of spayed rats with ovarian hormones did not influence their uterine catecholamines. In partially denervated uteri the level was about half the normal value.
