Abstract
ABSTRACT
A prolonged study extending over 77 days in a patient with testicular feminization was conducted during which castration was performed and gonadal and adrenal stimulation undertaken. Prior to castration levels of urinary testosterone and epitestosterone were high and cyclic changes in oestrogens and pregnanediol output were not noted. Following operation there was a marked decrease in the excretion of androgenic steroids but no significant changes following HCG administration. The main endocrinological feature of this patient was the lack of cyclicity of gonadal steroids.
