Abstract
ABSTRACT
Both cortisone and ACTH inhibit the incorporation of 3H-thymidine into the DNA of parenchymatous cells in the regenerating rat liver. In addition, the mitotic activity of hepatocytes is markedly impaired. It is assumed that the suppression of mitoses in the regenerating rat liver, caused by cortisone or ACTH, is due to a direct or indirect interference with DNA synthesis.
