Incandescent lamp design and lifetime

Abstract

For a vacuum filled tungsten incandescent light bulb using filament length and radius, simple non-empirical equations can predict current vs voltage, power vs voltage, and temperature vs voltage. These equations can be used to predict vacuum filled incandescent bulb lifetime as a function of the evaporation energy of a tungsten atom and temperature.
