4. The expression for Jω does not contain the homogeneous terms which arise in the solution of the particle equations of motion. This procedure is justified if one is considering stationary solutions in time. If one considers the excitation of an initially quiescent plasma, the procedure is still justified, providing all Fourier transforms are inverted by integrating along a path below the real axis in the complex ω plane.
