Time Approximation

Abstract

TDSEs can be formulated as a system of initial-value differential equations; a brief account of solution methods is given, not intended to be exhaustive or thorough but to present a line of thinking. Among others some attention is given to Crank–Nicolson and the Lanczos subspace approaches; the first due to its simplicity and the second due to its ability to deal with large scale matrix-free problems.
