Abstract
The practice of restorative dentistry continues to evolve and develop, offering improved outcomes for patients. Progress over the past 25 years has been particularly significant. There are several areas where change has been rapid and the impact of those changes has been remarkable. Undoubtedly, many of these developments have been driven by new products and technologies that are (understandably) developed and sold by companies in pursuit of profit. However, is our professional culture encouraging practitioners to pursue profit before the oral health of patients?
