Trauma and orthopaedic research publications produced during the past five years from a single training deanery

Abstract

It is important for trainees in trauma and orthopaedics (T&O) not only to gain surgical case numbers and workplace-based assessments but also to participate in research. This is mandated as part of the T&O curriculum and trainees are now required to produce at least two publications prior to completion of training. 1 Peer-reviewed publications are used frequently as a discriminator for those applying for consultant posts and suggest candidates who are interested in what they do and keen to share their experience with others. 2
