Abstract
South Korea faces the reality of a rapidly aging society, with an increasing proportion of elderly individuals. This has highlighted the importance of elderly care and management, raising awareness of their quality of life and welfare. Alongside the elderly, the population with disabilities is also growing, necessitating precise diagnosis and support systems. This situation emphasizes the need for a thorough understanding of Korea’s elderly long-term care and brain lesion disability systems to navigate these social changes and inform policy responses effectively. Notably, elderly long-term care services target the older population, offering a range of services from health management to social activity support, while brain lesion disability systems serve all ages, focusing on assessing disability type and severity to tailor welfare benefits.
