Over the years, there is a long history of using medicinal plants to treat cancer. especially in India and the majority of developing nations. Toxic side effects are frequently a part of using synthetic medications to treat cancer. Therefore, the solution to the harmful side effects of synthetic drugs is to use medicinal plants, which are widely available and reasonably priced. The anticancer properties of twenty common medicinal plants found throughout India were compiled in this review. This review also covered the kind of cancer cell that was inhibited, the plant components that had anticancer properties, Anticancer bioactive compounds, and the composition of the extracts utilized in the research. According to reports, the medicinal plants found in 21 India have anticancer properties for the ovary, breast, stomach, pancreas, kidney, skin, colon, esophagus, prostate, cervix, lung, and blood. The main groups including bioactive substances that have been linked to anticancer activity are Alkaloids, tannins, triterpenes, flavonoids, polyphenols, and quinones. Such plant-based substance exhibited major anticancer pharmacological actions, including apoptotic, cytotoxic, cytostatic, antimetastatic, antiproliferative, and antioxidative effects.
