Dr. Malcolm Cairns is a freelance researcher who was most recently a Fellow at the Centre for Southeast Aian Studies (CSEAS), Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan; Dr. Harold Brookfield spent the final years of his career as an Emeritus Professor of Geography and Anthropology at the College of Asia and the Pacific, Australian National University, Canberra.
