Introduction to vegetable grafting.

Abstract

This chapter describes the importance and use of vegetable grafting, discussing its history, purpose and scope, as well as the growing areas and the production of plantlets. The process of vegetable grafting, emphasizing the selection of rootstock and scion cultivars, is also described. An overview of grafting methods is presented, and the preference of grafting method for different species is explained. Post-graft healing environment is described and problems associated with vegetable grafting are mentioned.
