Abstract
This book considers a range of selected forms of special interest tourism in an attempt to provide a greater depth of understanding of its complexities. The book consists of a total of 17 chapters, including an introduction and a conclusion, with each focusing on a specific 'interest' or tourism theme, organised in five distinct sections: (1) family and faith tourism; (2) the performing arts; (3) active or passive tourism; (4) therapeutic leisure; and (5) travelling along. Each of the chapters cover a variety of aspects and present a contextualized overview of contemporary academic research, concepts and principles, and industry-based practice insights, linking theoretical frameworks to practice, and underpinned by current international examples and case studies.
