Vegetation-climate interactions: into the tick zone.

Abstract

This chapter gives a broad overview of vegetation-climate interactions in the context of scale. First, it introduces the importance of scale and pattern for studying ecological processes, then discuss examples of vegetation-climate interactions at different scales from molecular to global. Next, the relevance of these interactions for understanding ecological change, highlighting the significance for ticks is considered. The chapter is finished by suggesting how future advances could improve understanding of interactions between organisms and climate, particularly within the tick zone.
