Abstract

The following stages of tomato plant development are considered: germination, leaf appearance and leaf growth, stem development, root development, flowering (in particular, the factors affecting the number of leaves preceding the first inflorescence, a hypothesis on tomato flowering, and the appearance rate of new trusses), flower development, pollination, fruit set, and fruit development (with reference to the relationship between fruit development and fruit growth).
