AbstractThe establishment of fodder legumes (including Trifolium pratense, Lotus corniculatus and Medicago sativa) by conservation tillage systems and the emergence of gastropods as forage pests (such as Deroceras reticulatum, D. laeve, Arion subfuscus and A. fasciatus) in North America; effects of plant age and species on gastropod herbivory; and chemical and cultural control methods are discussed.
