AbstractThis paper characterizes the 'surviving stage' of the entomopathogenic nematode and describes the survival mechanisms in relation to the main environmental factors. The implications of survival strategies on the utilization of steinernematid and heterorhabditid nematodes as biological control agents are also discussed.
