Monitoring and forecasting.

Abstract

This chapter focuses on the monitoring and forecasting of aphids, particularly on the importance of monitoring and forecasting their occurrence, the key parameters to monitor and forecast, the appropriate sites where monitoring and forecasting should be performed, the right time that monitoring and forecasting should be undertaken, and the methods how aphids can be monitored and forecasted. The advantages and disadvantages of the methodologies are tabulated, and databases, data handling and forecasting models are discussed.
