AbstractThe Green Revolution in the Philippines, India and Indonesia is described, as well as that in Bangladesh. The first three countries made a shift in their agricultural policies during the 1960s, which led the way for the Green Revolution to take place. The shift involved the famous package of technology containing new seeds, fertilizer and pesticides, as well as other ingredients like credit, improved extension and training, increased investments in infrastructure, irrigation, and new price policy. Bangladesh's Green Revolution came much later, and it has experienced rapid growth in agriculture during the past two decades. The global dimension and the role of the USA in these Green Revolutions are also discussed.
