Cloning and characterization of disease resistance genes.

Abstract
This chapter discusses the cloning and characterization of other disease resistance (R) genes within the citrus genome, through a strategy based on sequence homologies among plant R genes in general, and provide information on the distribution of R genes and resistance gene candidates (RGCs). It also considers future prospects for manipulating disease resistance through genomic approaches.
