Abstract
In this chapter, the author provides a guide to phage therapy 'best practices', principles that have been formulated in the course of reviewing the modern phage therapy and phage-based bacterial biocontrol literature in combination with extensive consideration of related issues of phage ecology. These ideas are presented as answers to a series of 12 questions, which are believed should be generally considered over the course of phage therapy research and development. Four more issues are also presented at the end of the chapter - those of host range, unusual results, the dependence of phage-mediated bacterial killing on phage titres, and a discussion of the meaning or lack thereof of positive results.
