Grazing management of dairy goats on mediterranean herbaceous pastures.

Abstract

This chapter discusses the feeding behaviour and preference of goats on natural and cultivated pastures, the different grazing techniques and the choice of grazing techniques for goats. The effects of stocking rate and pasture integration with concentrates on the feeding behaviour and milk production performance of goats are also discussed. Finally, some practical indications for feeding supplementation are presented.
