The Mediterranean enlargement: an overview.

Abstract

This chapter (i) briefly highlights common and contrasting elements between Mediterranean and Central and Eastern European (CEE) accession states, (ii) highlights common and contrasting elements between Malta and Cyprus themselves, (iii) exemplifies this through aspects of tourism-environment relationships, and (iv) considers the wider Mediterranean implications of the EU accession of Malta and Cyprus.
