Abstract
Abstract
We performed a morphological analysis of the spiral structure in two specific galaxies: NGC 1084 and NGC 3464. The main objective of this research is to gain a deeper understanding of the distribution of the spiral structure in disk galaxies by studying their spiral patterns. We applied the two-dimensional fast Fourier transform method and conducted a detailed review of the Fourier spectra and radial density functions (RDFs) to analyze their patterns and characteristics. The initial results reveal that the main modes in the distribution of the spiral arms are m = 1 and m = 2, indicating symmetry. Additionally, specific areas in the RDF are detected where other modes, such as m = 3 and m = 4, exhibit higher relevance, indicating the presence of multiple spiral structures (bifurcations or segments).
