Abstract
This study aims at examining the effect of gender on attitudes toward women in United Arab Emirates (uae). To achieve the objectives of the study, a sample of 1036 men and women were selected and interviewed by students’ research assistants. To achieve the objectives of this study, descriptive and inferential statistics were used including Independent Sample t-Test, bivariate and Ordinary Least Square regressions analyses. General findings indicate a low to relatively low attitudes toward women. As might be expected, males revealed significantly lower levels of attitudes toward women than do females. Finally, controlling for the effect of age, marital status, religiosity, education, and employment failed to inflict significant changes on the effect gender on attitudes toward women in the uae.
