Abstract
AbstractIn this second part of the monograph experiments have been described and discussed which were undertaken to investigate which visual characteristics of the herring gull's egg are effective, and to what extent, in evoking incubaton responses. Inspired by the LORENZian concept 'releasing mechanism', the present study - involving 12 seasons of field work - has grown into an attempt to analyse for a particular case the processing of information received from the environment.
