A Descriptive Analysis of Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship Program Directors

Abstract

There is limited literature on the characteristics of pediatric ophthalmology leadership. The authors examined the demographics, academic backgrounds, and scholarly output of pediatric ophthalmology fellowship program directors. Despite a positive trend in gender equity in this position, efforts remain to resolve the “leaky pipeline” of women into ophthalmology leadership.
