Abstract
Amino acid analyses were made on a sample of rapeseed following oil extraction and on a sample of ground wheat. The analyses show there are hydrolytic losses of threonine, serine, cystine, and methionine which increase with the length of time of hydrolysis of the feed. Recoveries of certain amino acids from feeds depend on the conditions of hydrolysis and hence, for purposes of comparisons of amino acid analyses, hydrolysis conditions should be standardized.
