Abstract
A sulphate-sulphur-deficient soil was treated with thiourea and ammonium polysulphide in an incubation study to determine the release of sulphate. Reduced sulphur from both sources was oxidized to sulphate in 2–4 wk. The released sulphate from either of the sources may provide sufficient sulphur for plant growth in sulphur-deficient soil.
