Abstract
Difference in grazing intensity (35, 41, and 48 lambs/ha), where weaned lambs were grazed apart from the ewes, had little effect on populations of most parasitic nematode species as determined by post-mortem nematode counts in the alimentary tracts of the lambs. The number of Trichostrongylus spp. in the small intestine decreased with increased stocking rate. Lambs grazed separate from ewes had significantly fewer of most parasitic species in their alimentary tracts than those grazed with the ewes.
